In a major shakeup for the Manly Sea Eagles, outside back Christian Tuipulotu has been granted permission to negotiate with a Sydney club, signaling a potential end to his time on the Northern Beaches.
Tuipulotu, who joined the Sea Eagles from the Sydney Roosters last year, has had a decent stint with the team, featuring in 32 games, including 12 last season.
However, the club is now making way for NSW Blues forward Nathan Brown, prompting Tuipulotu's potential departure.
The Sydney Morning Herald reveals that Tuipulotu's manager has formally requested permission to engage with rival clubs, with the St George Illawarra Dragons being in talks for an immediate move.
This development doesn't come as a surprise, as Tuipulotu has fallen behind a string of talented wingers at Manly, such as Jason Saab, Jaxson Paulo, and Tommy Talau.
Despite his connections with Dragons coach Shane Flanagan, a deal has yet to be finalized, although Tuipulotu's desire to secure a long-term contract is believed to be the driving force behind his desire to leave Manly.
