The lads over at cowboys.com.au have some breaking news for all you footy fans out there - Dibb & Whitfeld have been named on the extended bench for the Sky Blues in Game II against the Queensland Maroons.

It's set to be a clash of titans at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle on Thursday 6 June.

The Westpac NSW Sky Blues coach, Kylie Hilder, is sticking with the same squad that brought home the bacon in the first game at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

They took down the Maroons 22-12 and now have their sights set on securing the Origin Shield with another victory in Newcastle.

The final showdown will be in Townsville on Thursday 27 June.

The rivalry between these two states is as fierce as ever, with the women's Origin honour roll currently deadlocked at 3-all.

NSW claimed the Shield in 2018-19 and 2022, while Queensland had a stronghold in 2020, 2021, and 2023.

It's shaping up to be a classic showdown, with both teams hungry for victory and ready to leave it all on the field.
