Parramatta's decision to give Brad Arthur his walking papers hasn't sat well with some folks at the club, especially star player Dylan Brown who considers it a real tough break.

Brown, speaking out for the first time, believes it's a bit rough to see Arthur get the boot while the Eels are struggling at the bottom of the ladder.

The bond between Arthur and Brown goes way back to when the young Kiwi made his debut in the NRL back in 2019.

The duo clicked, which is why Brown felt gutted to see his mentor get the chop after leading the Eels all the way to the grand final in 2022.

"We're all grown-ups here, and things sometimes happen that we don't like.

It was a shock and a real letdown to see him go, because many of us were pretty tight with Brad," Brown expressed.

"Seeing him go so suddenly, especially at this crucial stage of the season, is a real kick in the guts.

"We're disappointed, but we've got to dust ourselves off and start getting results because the fans are counting on us to step up.

It's up to us players to pull the socks up and start delivering on the field."
