Dragons Lower Grades Wrap: Round 9

LeagueNews.co | Nick Loken

The Dragons Lower Grades had a solid showing in Round 9 of the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup seasons.

Savelio Tamale showed his attacking prowess by scoring his fifth try in four games, thanks to a perfectly timed Jesse Marschke offload.

The Jets retaliated just before halftime with a try from winger Samuel Stonestreet, narrowing the Dragons' lead to 6-4.

The game remained neck and neck until the 60-minute mark, when the Dragons unleashed a flurry of tries in a 13-minute period.

Joshua Cook, Mawene Hiroti, and Kyle Pickering all crossed the try line before Stonestreet scored his second try, giving the Jets a comfortable 26-6 lead.

Mathew Feagai managed to score a late consolation try for the Dragons with some slick passing moves.

Overall, it was a game of ebbs and flows, with moments of brilliance from both sides.

The Dragons showed glimpses of their potential, but the Jets ultimately came out on top in a convincing fashion.

The Dragons will be looking to regroup and come back stronger in the next round, as they strive to climb up the ladder in both the NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg competitions.
