Dragons Strengthen Forward Line with New Signing

LeagueNews.co | Cooper McEnroe

The St George Illawarra Dragons have enhanced their forward roster with the acquisition of a back-rower from a competing team.

Dylan Coutts, who spent the 2025 NRL season on the development list with the Cronulla Sharks, has signed with the Dragons for the upcoming season.

Currently, it remains unclear if his contract pertains solely to the NSWRL (NSW Cup) or if it also includes NRL elements.

Coutts joins a growing list of signings, including Daniel Atkinson, David Fale, Josh Kerr, and Setu Tu, as the Dragons aim to revamp their team under Shane Flanagan and re-establish themselves as a contender for the premiership in the near future.

Still in the early stages of his career, Coutts transitions to the Red V after a three-year period with the Cronulla Sharks and a two-season involvement with the Manly Sea Eagles system.

Recently, he predominantly played in the Under-21s Jersey Flegg Cup for the Sharks and concluded the season strong, having made his NSW Cup debut for the Newtown Jets. He finished the year with two tries, 616 running meters, and ten appearances.
