In Round 9 of the NSW Cup, the Wests Magpies faced a heavy defeat against the Dragons, ending the match 60-28.

The Dragons quickly established dominance, with Ben Rumble and Sione Finau both crossing for tries in the first ten minutes.

The Magpies managed to respond when Max Liles scored in the 18th minute, marking Wests' only try of the first half.

The Dragons continued their scoring spree, showcasing a strong second-half performance with Cody Ramsey notching a double, alongside tries from Rumble, Nick Tsougranis, and Lachy Ilias.

By halftime, the Dragons held a commanding lead at 40-6.

In the second half, Magpies winger Izaac Tu'itupou found the try line with a corner score set up by an Elie El-Zakhem offload.

However, the Dragons quickly retaliated, and both Ilias and Raymond Faitala-Mariner added to their tally.

Despite the tough outing for Wests, Krystian Mapapalangi's debut try provided a glimmer of positivity, as he leaped to catch a Kurt Falls cross-field bomb.
