St George Rugby League legend Steve 'Slippery' Morris is currently in the hospital recovering from emergency brain surgery after suffering a stroke at a cafe in Kiama.

According to news.com.au, Morris, who is a former Kangaroo and the father of league twins Josh and Brett Morris, was quickly transported from his home in Kiama to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, Sydney, due to a blood clot in his brain.

The Daily Telegraph reported the incident, stating that Morris is making a "remarkable recovery." Despite the seriousness of his condition, the 66-year-old former halfback and winger is now sitting up in his hospital bed and sharing jokes with the nurses.

The coffee shop owner where the incident occurred immediately provided first aid before calling for an ambulance.

The recovery of Morris is being described as extraordinary, and his positive progress is giving hope to his family, friends, and fans.
