Shane Flanagan has successfully bolstered his squad with the acquisition of a seasoned player, as Phillip Sami transitions from the Titans to the Dragons starting from the 2027 season.
As reported by Code Sports, the Dragons have secured Sami's services, which includes a three-year contract extending through to the end of the 2029 season.
In a twist, Sami is set to compete against his new team this Sunday, as the Titans clash with the Dragons, having revealed his choice to club officials just last Thursday.
The official announcement of Sami's signing with the Dragons is expected to take place within the week.
The 28-year-old's position with the Titans was uncertain following the conclusion of the 2025 season, during which he was allowed to explore options outside the Gold Coast club.
Despite initial uncertainty, rookie coach Josh Hannay reconsidered but hesitated to offer a formal contract extension, largely due to constraints from the club's salary cap.
