Dragons Sign Veteran Halfback Kodi Nikorima

The St George Illawarra Dragons have made significant strides in their recruitment efforts by acquiring seasoned half Kodi Nikorima for the upcoming season.

Currently undergoing a substantial roster transformation, the Dragons confirmed reports that emerged last night regarding Nikorima's addition to the team.

Nikorima is set to join the club for a minimum of the 2027 and 2028 seasons.

"Kodi's achieved so much in the game and has been playing great football at the Dolphins," stated Dragons head coach Dean Young.

"He's a classy player. His ball-playing ability and decision-making are elite. We are looking forward to welcoming him to the club in November."

The 32-year-old is currently off-contract at Redcliffe and is anticipated to compete for the starting halves position alongside new recruit George Williams, while Isaiya Katoa is likely to take on the number seven jersey.

With 237 NRL games to his name, Nikorima is expected to bring essential stability to the Red V's struggling halves this season.

This recruitment comes after the club's decision to part ways with Shane Flanagan following a tough start to the year, marked by seven consecutive losses, leading to Dean Young's mid-season takeover.

Since then, the Dragons have won two matches in 2026, and Young has officially been promoted to the role of full-time coach.
