Keaon Koloamatangi has expressed his desire to play a pivotal role in St George Illawarra's future following his announcement as the Dragons' most significant signing in years.
On Tuesday, Dragons officials confirmed that Koloamatangi will be joining the team on a five-year contract from South Sydney, which will keep him with the Red V until 2031.
In sharing the news of Koloamatangi's signing, the Dragons labeled it "one of the biggest signings in the club's recent history."
This acquisition provides St George Illawarra with much-needed strength in their forward pack, with the deal rumored to be around $5 million over the five years.
Recently, St George Illawarra has developed several promising young forwards, including Dylan Egan, Hamish Stewart, and the Couchman twins, Ryan and Toby.
However, the addition of Koloamatangi will introduce a genuine star to their lineup.
At 27 years old, Koloamatangi has made appearances for the NSW State of Origin team as well as 14 international Tests for Australia and Tonga.
"I've been watching the (Dragons) squad, they're building and the young forwards coming through, and I want to be part of driving that next era," Koloamatangi stated in a Dragons announcement.
