The St George Illawarra Dragons have reportedly upgraded debutant centre and second-rower Nick Tsougranis, signaling a potential contract extension as the team faces numerous injuries.
Tsougranis, a former Australian Schoolboy, made his first appearance for the Dragons against the Cronulla Sharks in Round 15.
With injuries piling up after the recent match against the Parramatta Eels, he could feature again soon.
Currently on a development deal, Tsougranis has yet to secure a contract with the Dragons through 2026, but reports suggest he has been promoted for the remainder of the season.
This move indicates that he might remain with the Dragons beyond this year, joining other young talents who have recently stepped into first-grade roles.
Versatile in his position, Tsougranis is highly regarded by Dragons officials, having advanced through the club's junior pathways.
