Dragon's Roar: Will Blake Lawrie Reach Representative Glory?

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

In a recent interview, St George Illawarra Dragons prop Blake Lawrie has expressed his aspirations to be in the representative conversation for the upcoming 2024 season.

Despite the Dragons' poor performance in 2023, Lawrie stood out as one of their best players, consistently delivering strong performances on the field.

With impressive stats, including an average of 135 metres per game and over 30 tackles, Lawrie has proven his worth as a formidable force in the team.

Although he was not in the conversation for representative honours last year, Lawrie remains optimistic, drawing motivation from the eyebrow-raising selections of other players by Brad Fittler.

Now, under the guidance of new head coach Michael Maguire, Lawrie believes he may be better suited to the team's game plan, further enhancing his chances of being recognized at a representative level.

While Lawrie's priority is to help the Dragons reach the finals, he is determined to make a mark and establish himself as a player deserving of representative honours.
