The St George Illawarra Dragons, as reported on their official website dragons.com.au, have made the decision to contest the grading of a charge leveled against Jack de Belin following an incident during their clash against the Manly Sea Eagles on Saturday.
The match review committee has handed de Belin a grade two dangerous contact charge for an incident involving Sea Eagles winger Christian Tuipulotu in the 65th minute of Round 22, which took place at WIN Stadium.
If de Belin had accepted an early guilty plea, he would have faced a three-match suspension due to his prior loading.
However, if the Dragons succeed in challenging the grading, de Belin would be fined $3,000 instead of being suspended.
On the other hand, if their appeal is unsuccessful at the judiciary on Tuesday night, the 32-year-old player would be sidelined for four matches.
