The St George Illawarra Dragons have made history by starting their season with an 0-5 record after a 32-0 loss to the North Queensland Cowboys at St George Venues Jubilee Stadium.
This match marked their first home game of 2026, but the Dragons struggled offensively against a Cowboys team that has now achieved three consecutive wins.
Jaxon Purdue scored two tries, joined by Scott Drinkwater, Braidon Burns, Murray Taulagi, and Jake Clifford, who also contributed four goals.
In the first half, the Dragons spent most of their time in the Cowboys' territory but went into halftime trailing 16-0.
Hope flickered early in the second half when Reuben Cotter received a yellow card for a professional foul, yet the Cowboys managed to score again after a Dragons blunder.
Looking ahead, the Dragons will prepare for a Friday night match against the Sea Eagles at WIN Stadium.
