The Dragons faced a defeat against the reigning champions, the Panthers, ending their season with a score of 40-20 during their final match in Wollongong on Saturday afternoon.

A sold-out crowd filled WIN Stadium for the first part of the club's double-header, celebrating the annual i98FM Illawarra Convoy.

This match also commemorated Jack de Belin's 252nd and final game for the club, 14 years after his NRL debut at the same venue.

Klemmer set up a play, passing to front row teammate Emre Guler, who then fed the ball to his halfback, allowing him to dummy and step his way over to the right of the posts.

Flanagan successfully converted his own try, narrowing the gap to four points for the Red V.

The video officials were called into action 25 minutes into the match when Casey McLean attempted a remarkable dive in the left corner but was thwarted by Hayden Buchanan's desperate coverage.

The Dragons lost their Captain's Challenge on the subsequent set after Feagai was judged to have illegally impeded a Panther while competing for a bomb from the attacking Dragons.

Blaize Talagi nearly secured Penrith's third try off a grubber from Dylan Edwards, but Jaydn Su'A executed an impressive scramble to prevent it.
