The Dragons have announced that Trinity Tauaneai has signed a contract extension, securing her position with the club until at least the end of the 2027 season.

The 18-year-old makes her debut in the top squad after leading Illawarra's Tarsha Gale Cup team to a Preliminary Final earlier this year.

Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, Tauaneai played her junior rugby for the Wainuiomata Lions before moving to Australia in 2023 to chase her rugby league aspirations.

In 2024, she was recognized with an Australian Schoolgirls selection while attending Bass Hill High School.

She also played as a lock in Illawarra's Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership Grand Final victory.
