Dragons coach Shane Flanagan is considering ramping up their bid to sign veteran prop David Klemmer, as St George Illawarra is facing a shortage of quality middles due to a brutal injury sustained by a young player.
Flanagan stated, "It looks like he's done his ACL, so it's not real good.
He's a young kid at the start of his NRL career and he's such a competitor." The team is already without Francis Molo, who has requested a release from the club, and there are concerns that Ryan Couchman may miss the rest of the season with a potential ACL rupture.
Klemmer, who did not play in reserve grade for the Tigers on Saturday, has been linked to a move to the Dragons, and speculation suggests he may switch clubs soon.
Additionally, new recruit Emre Guler is on report for a hip-drop tackle, but Flanagan is not overly worried about a possible ban for the next game against Souths.
The team will have to make decisions about recruiting to address their injury woes and maintain a competitive squad.
