After months of speculation and whispers in the wind, the St George Illawarra Dragons have dropped a bombshell regarding the future of the talented outside back, Zac Lomax.
Reports from the folks over at zerotackle.com suggest that the Dragons have given Lomax the green light to chat with other clubs, with the understanding that he will depart at the conclusion of the 2024 NRL season.
In a move that may raise a few eyebrows, the club has made it crystal clear that they will not be contributing financially to whichever team Lomax decides to join next season.
"the decision to part ways with Zac now gives both him and the club a sense of direction moving forward, allowing us to game plan for the seasons to come," declared Dragons CEO Ryan Webb in a press release.
"By setting this in motion, it allows the Dragons to sharpen the Top 30 squad and take advantage of the extra salary cap space, while Zac can lace up his boots for a new adventure with another team."
