Dragons Eyeing Jahream Bula's Future

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

The St George Illawarra Dragons have emerged as a club monitoring the future of Jahream Bula, with the Dragons understood to have held discussions with the Wests Tigers fullback in recent weeks.

Bula remains contracted to the Tigers until the end of 2026, with a mutual option for 2027, and there is currently no indication that a decision regarding his future is imminent.

Nonetheless, the Dragons' interest appears to be genuine, as multiple conversations have reportedly taken place while the club assesses potential options in the market.

The 22-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the Tigers' most promising young talents since making his NRL debut. He has impressed fans and analysts alike with his speed, footwork, and composure under high balls, despite the team's ongoing on-field challenges.

The Dragons' interest in Bula aligns with their strategy of planning beyond their current roster phase. Following the recruitment of Clint Gutherson for the 2025 season, the club is still keen on identifying long-term solutions for key spine positions.

Currently, the Dragons appear to be in an information-gathering stage rather than aggressively pursuing a deal, as Bula evaluates his options amid interest from multiple clubs.
