The St George Illawarra Dragons have faced challenges in recent years, but one uplifting narrative has been the return of Cody Ramsey. After being sidelined for two years due to ulcerative colitis, Ramsey made his comeback to rugby league in 2025, aiming to break into the NRL for the first time in three years.

Unfortunately, the Dragons have not shown much enthusiasm for the young player's return, opting not to reinstate him in the first-grade squad. They have given him the freedom to explore opportunities elsewhere.

Although the Dragons have extended a minimum train-and-trial offer to Ramsey, he believes he deserves more. Taking charge of his future, the 25-year-old was recently seen touring the Sydney Roosters' facilities, as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald.

If negotiations with the Roosters or any other NRL team do not materialize, Ramsey might consider a move to the Super League. According to Love Rugby League, the fullback has received permission from the UK Home Office to pursue this overseas opportunity.

Initially, there were concerns about his ability to obtain a visa for the Super League. However, it has been reported that a collaborative effort by the Rugby Football League and the NRL resulted in the Home Office's favorable decision.
