In their home opener at Jubilee Stadium, the Dragons faced the Roosters and suffered a 24-10 defeat, as reported by dragons.com.au.

The match, attended by a lively crowd, saw the Dragons initially take the lead in the second half through Charlotte Basham's first try at the NRLW level.

However, a series of ill-discipline issues allowed the Roosters to regain control.

The Dragons' Margot Vella made a significant break from deep within her own half, setting up an attack that culminated in skipper Berry scoring, which tied the game at 4-4.

Berry's try added to her already impressive all-time leading tally.

She nearly added a second try shortly afterward, following a clever grubber kick from Raecene McGregor, but the Roosters' Rima Butler intervened, grounding the ball first in-goal.

Despite opportunities for Trinity Tauaneai and Zali Hopkins in subsequent sets, the Roosters' defense remained resolute.

The match highlighted both the potential and challenges faced by the Dragons as they aim to improve upon this early-season performance.
