In their final NRLW outing of 2023, the Dragons suffered a heavy defeat as they fell to the Broncos by a scoreline of 46-12 at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday night.
The Broncos proved to be the dominant team in the season finale, finishing atop the Dragons in the NRLW standings.
Unfortunately for the Dragons, the night ended on a somber note as star five-eighth Tyla Nathan-Wong was stretchered off the field due to a neck injury.
However, there were some standout performances from the Dragons, including a brilliant play by Teagan Berry in the second half, which saw her outshine Broncos' powerhouse Mele Hufanga in the total try tally for the season.
The game started with an impressive break by Destiny Brill for the Broncos, but the Dragons showed great defensive resilience and managed to prevent the visitors from scoring.
The Dragons then took advantage of sustained pressure and Julia Robinson scored the opening points of the contest, courtesy of a well-executed cut-out pass from Tazmin Gray.
Nathan-Wong further shifted the momentum in favor of the Dragons with an intercept, and she followed it up with a perfectly timed short ball to Williamson, who scored her first NRLW try.
