The Dragons are making headlines in the opening week of the Pacific Championships, with standout performances from a selection of players in matches held in Brisbane and Suva.

Young gun Jessica Patea stole the show with a stellar debut for Fetu Samoa, scoring two tries to help her team secure a 30-16 victory over Tonga and keep their World Cup hopes alive.

Patea, who joined the Red V on an NRLW development deal earlier in the season, made a significant impact during her time with the Steelers Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership.

Maatuleio Fotu-Moala, who had a strong debut season with the Red V, faced off against Patea and Fetu Samoa in Suva, making an impressive 84-metre run from 10 carries.

Meanwhile, Tonga's Moses Suli put in a standout performance against the Kangaroos, running for 185 metres from 19 carries and breaking four tackles in a losing effort.

Jack de Belin also made his presence known for the Kumuls, helping them secure a 22-10 victory over Fiji Bati with a strong performance on the field.

Overall, the Dragons stars are shining bright in the Pacific Championships, showcasing their talent and determination on the grand stage.

Rugby League fans are in for a treat as these players continue to make their mark in the competition.
