As rumors emerged on Sunday that Adam Doueihi planned to request a release from the Wests Tigers, he met with club officials on Monday and is now committing to finish the season.
Nevertheless, there remains a chance that he could depart for another team by 2027.
The Perth Bears are closely monitoring the situation, and reports from CODE Sports suggest that the newly established NRL team would pursue Doueihi if the Tigers allow the 27-year-old to leave.
Moreover, Adam Doueihi's manager, Isaac Moses, might reconsider the player's future at the season's conclusion.
Dean Ritchie is of the opinion that Doueihi will play out the remainder of his time with the Tigers, asserting that departures are likely.
"He'll play until the end of the year, but I think come the end of the year expect the speculation to rise yet again and Isaac Moses will get involved yet again," Ritchie commented during NRL 360 on Monday evening.
"This, I think, has an inevitable conclusion. I don't think he'll be next year. I think it's inevitable."
He further stated, "They can paint it whatever way they want. I think Adam Doueihi wants to leave. I wrote the story in today's paper saying he wanted out. I stand by that 100 per cent. The story is correct. I spoke to people very close to Adam Doueihi, and they said it is unfixable."
Brent Read concurred with Ritchie, noting that the Perth Bears have "some interest" in Doueihi and indicating that there are "whispers" surrounding potential interest from the St George Illawarra Dragons as well, although he expressed skepticism about any moves being made by the Red V.
