Adam Doueihi is set to be the primary candidate for the No.7 jersey with the Wests Tigers in 2026, as the team aims to end its lengthy absence from the finals.

The experienced utility player disclosed that he has primarily trained as a halfback during the pre-season, working closely with Jarome Luai. Coach Benji Marshall is providing him with ample opportunity to secure this essential role prior to the start of the season.

Doueihi is confident that his preparation has positioned him well to kick off the season in the halves. "That's where I've been most of this pre-season, so fingers crossed I get the nod there for Round 1 and take it from there," Doueihi mentioned on SEN.

He added, "I've been doing most of my reps at the halfback position, so I've been filling in there and helping out alongside Jarome and trying to form a combo."

At 27, Doueihi was one of the Tigers' most versatile players in 2025, playing various positions, including centre, five-eighth, lock, and halfback. However, he is now focused on making the No.7 jersey uniquely his following a highly consistent season recently. "I love it there," Doueihi remarked.
