The latest news from parraeels.com.au has sent shockwaves through the NRLW community, as Rueben Cherrington and Boss Kapua have been sidelined for the rest of the 2024 season due to serious injuries suffered in Round 1.
Cherrington was brought down by a syndesmosis (ankle) injury during a fierce tackle against Brisbane, a blow that will require surgery and force the young gun to sit out the rest of the year.
Kapua, on the other hand, suffered a devastating knee injury during the same game.
Scans have revealed a PCL injury, spelling the end of her season and leaving a gaping hole in the team.
With Pihuka Berryman-Duff, Mia Middleton, and Lindsay Tui also nursing injuries on the sidelines, the team will need to dig deep and rally together to overcome this adversity and push forward in the season.
As the saying goes, it's not about how hard you hit, but how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
The road to victory may be tough, but with determination and teamwork, anything is possible in the game of Rugby League.
