Roosters winger Dom Young has copped a NRL suspension after a sickening high shot left fans divided and fuming.

The match review committee handed Young a two-week ban for his reckless tackle on Blake Taafe during Friday night's game, where the Bulldogs managed to hold off a Roosters comeback in the pouring rain to win 30-26.

Roosters supporters were not impressed as Young became the first player in 2024 to be sent off for a high shot on Taafe.

To add insult to injury, Victor Radley was also sin-binned for a controversial hip-drop tackle late in the game, although he escaped without a citation the next day.

Despite this, Young was handed the suspension for his dangerous play, sparking debate within the NRL community on whether the punishment was too lenient.

Taafe was left unconscious from the hit and will likely miss the next match due to the mandatory 11-day HIA protocol.

Young faced the wrath of Bulldogs players as he accepted his fate on the sidelines, knowing his actions had repercussions.

It remains to be seen if Young and the Roosters will challenge the suspension, but for now, they will have to regroup and focus on moving forward without their suspended winger.
