Dolphins versus Broncos: Injury concerns for key players

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

The upcoming clash between the Broncos and the Dolphins is shaping up to be a real slobberknocker, with both teams facing uncertainty over the availability of key players.

The Redcliffe-based Dolphins and the Brisbane Broncos are both sweating bullets as they wait to see who will make the cut for Saturday evening's showdown.

According to reports from zerotackle.com, Wayne Bennett's Broncos will definitely be missing Jesse Bromwich and Kodi Nikorima due to concussion protocols following their defeat to the Melbourne Storm last weekend.

This leaves a big gap in the team that will need to be filled for the upcoming game.

But the Dolphins have their own set of challenges to overcome, with Max Plath, Ray Stone, and Tevita Pangai Junior all facing fitness doubts.

Plath, who is set to play hooker, Stone, slated for the lock position, and Pangai Junior, listed as a reserve, are all dealing with injuries that could keep them sidelined for the crucial match.

Pangai Junior was unable to train on Tuesday, Stone is nursing a neck injury, and Plath is struggling with a calf problem.

The Dolphins are keeping their fingers crossed that at least one of them will be fit to play, especially as they edge closer to welcoming back Jeremy Marshall-King from a foot injury, who is on the reserves list for the upcoming clash.

With so much uncertainty surrounding the fitness of key players, both teams will need to dig deep and rely on their depth to secure victory in what promises to be an electrifying game between two local rivals.
