The Dolphins have given an update on their 2024 Rookie of the Year ahead of the 2025 NRL season, with star recruit Daniel Saifiti set to debut in Round 1 despite a scare in the final trial match against the Titans.

Unfortunately, Jack Bostock will be sidelined for the first two weeks due to a knee injury.

Saifiti's initial injury had fans sweating bullets, but scans revealed no serious damage, allowing him to resume full training next week and get back in the game.

Dolphins Head of Performance, Jeremy Hickmans, confirmed that they erred on the side of caution with Saifiti during the trial match, opting not to risk him unnecessarily.

"Daniel was only taken off as a precaution and we made the call not to push him too hard in a trial match," Hickmans stated in an interview with Dolphins Media.

With the season opener against South Sydney looming, the Dolphins will be hoping both Saifiti and Bostock can hit the ground running and make a big impact on the field.

It's all about playing smart and ensuring the team is firing on all cylinders from the get-go.
