The Dolphins have delivered a pleasant surprise regarding their star hooker, Jeremy Marshall-King, who was initially thought to have suffered a career-threatening Lisfranc injury to his foot.
Marshall-King had to leave the field during Sunday's game against the St George Illawarra Dragons, sporting a moon boot and causing concern among fans and teammates alike.
Fortunately, scans have shown that Marshall-King has not sustained a Lisfranc injury but rather two fractures in his second and third toes.
While surgery is still necessary, the recovery time is expected to be shorter than initially feared, allowing the talented dummy half to potentially make a return in just eight to ten weeks.
"We dodged a bullet with this one," remarked Dolphins' Head of Performance Jeremy Hickmans, relieved that the injury is not as severe as first thought.
This news will undoubtedly lift the spirits of the team and their supporters, ensuring that Marshall-King will soon be back on the field doing what he does best.
