The Dolphins are set to make their way back to Central Queensland as part of their 2026 pre-season preparations, confirming a trial match against the Central Queensland Capras in Gladstone.

This match will take place at Marley Brown Oval on Saturday, February 7, providing regional fans a unique opportunity to see NRL talent firsthand before the upcoming season.

The event strengthens the club's growing ties with Central Queensland and is an integral part of the Dolphins' overall pre-season strategy, highlighting the connection between the Hostplus Cup and the NRL.

Gladstone Mayor Matt Burnett expressed pride in the region's ability to host the Dolphins once again, noting that Marley Brown Oval is significant as it was the site of their first-ever NRL trial match in 2023.

"It's fantastic to see the region's affiliation with the Dolphins continue to grow," Burnett said in a club statement.

"The rise of the Dolphins has been fascinating to watch, and this match is a great opportunity for both sides heading into 2026."

Dolphins CEO Terry Reader also welcomed the opportunity to return to Gladstone, emphasizing the region's importance to the club's long-term vision.
