Dolphins make a splash in Sydney for Round 1

The NRL has announced that the Dolphins-Rabbitohs Round 1 clash will be moved to CommBank Stadium in Sydney due to the impending Cyclone Alfred.

The cyclone is expected to hit Brisbane with heavy rain and strong winds, prompting residents to prepare for potentially one of the biggest weather events in decades.

Suncorp Stadium, the original venue for the match, is at risk of flooding, having experienced it in the past during major rain events.

With South Sydney's usual home ground unavailable, CommBank Stadium was chosen to host the game instead.

The decision to relocate the match was made in the interest of safety for both players and spectators.
