Dolphins Face Record Loss, Coach Confounded

Kristian Woolf found himself perplexed on Saturday as the Dolphins faced a staggering 66-0 defeat against the Cronulla Sharks, marking a club record loss.

This match marked the second time this season the Dolphins have been defeated by over 50 points, having previously let in 52 points to the Manly Sea Eagles in Round 5.

No modern-era team has secured the premiership after suffering such a significant defeat in a single match.

In a post-match interview, Woolf expressed his thoughts on his team's display, stating, "There's not much to say."

He further remarked, "Obviously weren't ready to play a tough game of footy tonight, and that showed."

When probed about the team's training leading up to the match, Woolf struggled to explain how his squad managed to produce their most significant loss amidst good preparation.

"No, I can't, to be honest. I thought the preparation was good. We've been great for 11 weeks," he noted.

"So I'm not quite sure where that came from tonight... I haven't seen (fatigue); certainly didn't think that before the game," he added.

In light of the disappointing performance, the Dolphins coach extended an apology to fans, acknowledging their disappointment.
