Dolphins face double dive: season sunk

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

The Dolphins are facing a significant setback with the announcement that Max Plath and Daniel Saifiti are likely out for the rest of the season due to severe injuries.

According to reports from zerotackle.com, Plath has suffered an ACL injury, while Saifiti has undergone surgery for an MCL injury, both of which will prevent their return this season.

This comes as the team is already coping with the absence of Tom Gilbert, who is expected to return shortly before the finals.

Reports indicate that the Dolphins are preparing to confirm the serious nature of Plath's injury, scheduling him for a surgeon visit next month.

His ACL injury occurred during the team's recent victory over the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Should the injury be confirmed, Plath will be sidelined for approximately nine to twelve months.

This situation is particularly unfortunate for Plath, as he had been showing promise and could have been a contender for Queensland's Origin team had he remained fit.

Instead, he now faces the challenging prospect of preparing for the start of the next season.
