Dolphins Duo Excited for Cobbo's 2026 Return

With the 2026 NRL season on the horizon, Dolphins centre Herbie Farnworth is eager to reconnect with his former Brisbane Broncos teammate, Selwyn Cobbo.

After five seasons with the Broncos, Cobbo is set to make a highly anticipated transition to The Dolphins next year as he aims to regain the outstanding form that earned him selections for both Australia and Queensland.

Despite being recognized as a generational talent, the 23-year-old has faced challenges in delivering consistent performances over the past two seasons. He missed the opportunity to compete in the 2025 NRL Grand Final and was even relegated to reserve-grade play.

Having signed a one-year contract with his new team, Cobbo is determined to make an immediate impact as he vies for a position in the back-line alongside Jake Averillo, Jack Bostock, and Trai Fuller.

"Hopefully he's back from his hamstring injury and I think he'll be a big force for us next year," Farnworth stated.

Dolphins teammate Isiaya Katoa expressed eagerness to play alongside Cobbo, having observed him from a distance. He believes that, together with Brad Schneider and Morgan Knowles, they have the potential to elevate the team into a top-eight contender.

"I can't wait to see what we can try and do with him and try and build some connections and combinations, so I'm looking forward to that," Katoa added.
