The latest news from dolphinsnrl.com.au has revealed that Dolphins' second rower Connelly Lemuelu will be sitting on the sidelines for up to four weeks due to a facial injury sustained in last week's fiery clash against the Rabbitohs.
"Scans have confirmed that Lemuelu has a fractured eye socket as a result of the on-field collision," said coach Craig Ingebrigtsen.
The injury was serious enough to prevent the Samoan international from flying back to Brisbane, with risks of further damage.
But, as they say in Rugby League, you win some, you lose some.
"We'll be missing Connelly's presence on the field, but we have full confidence in the team to step up in his absence," added Ingebrigtsen.
On a brighter note, Lemuelu's recovery is expected to be smooth sailing, with the team optimistic about his return to action sooner rather than later.
"Injuries are part and parcel of the game, but we'll rally together as a team and continue to push forward," said captain Jesse Arthars, showing true Aussie grit and determination in the face of adversity.
