Dolphins dive for Williams: Will he take the plunge?

LeagueNews.co | Cooper McEnroe

The Dolphins are reportedly set to pursue a transfer for Warrington Wolves star and captain, George Williams, as they look to strengthen their team.

According to All Out Rugby, the 30-year-old halfback is being eyed by the Dolphins to team up with promising young player Isaiya Katoa.

The club believes Williams could play a key role in Katoa's development.

If the move happens, Williams is expected to step into a five-eighth position, potentially replacing current Dolphins five-eighth Kodi Nikorima.

Williams is under contract until the end of 2026, aligning with Nikorima's anticipated exit, which has prompted Dolphins officials to consider him as a crucial veteran addition.

They are hopeful that Williams will bring much-needed experience to the team, which has been lacking since the departure of inaugural captain Jesse Bromwich.

However, it's worth noting that Williams has not expressed any desire to return to Australia after his earlier exit from the Raiders.
