The Sharks' website is buzzing with the news that Dodd and Penitani have snagged spots in the prestigious Jillaroos squad for the upcoming Pacific Championships.
These two formidable players showcased their skills during the NRLW season and have now earned themselves a ticket to represent their country on the international stage.
Dodd, a promising hooker, is on the brink of her maiden appearance for the national team.
She joins a group of five fresh faces selected by coach Brad Donald in the 21-player squad.
On the other hand, Penitani, the courageous captain of Cronulla, is set to don the green and gold jersey once again after a two-year hiatus, where she proudly represented Tonga last year.
Both players have been pivotal in the Sharks' journey to success this season, including their valiant effort in the heart-wrenching Grand Final loss to the Roosters at Accor Stadium.
But now, they shift their focus to the Pacific Championships, where they will clash with the PNG Orchids at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on October 18, followed by a showdown against the reigning champions, the New Zealand Kiwi Ferns, at Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch on October 27.
Leading the charge for Australia will be co-captains Ali Brigginshaw and Kezie Apps, who are no strangers to the thrill of international competition.
It's a momentous occasion for Dodd and Penitani as they prepare to embark on this new chapter in their rugby league careers, standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the best in the game.
