In the world of Rugby League, the affiliate clubs of the Roosters have had a mixed weekend of action.
Unfortunately, both the Glebe Dirty Reds and Ipswich Jets suffered brutal defeats, while the North Sydney Bears emerged victorious and were crowned the NSW Cup Minor Premiers after a close win.
In the Ron Massey Cup, the Glebe Dirty Reds faced a devastating 32-6 loss in the Qualifying Final against the Wentworthville Magpies.
The game took place on a rainy Sunday afternoon at St Mary's Leagues Stadium.
Right from the start, the Dirty Reds struggled to assert their dominance, conceding a try within the first minute.
To make matters worse, a sloppy pass resulted in a 90-meter intercept try for the Magpies.
By halftime, Glebe found themselves trailing by 16 points, unable to mount a comeback in the second half.
Their only consolation came late in the match when Salesi Malu scored a try following some extraordinary play by Harry Mckeon.
Despite this defeat, the Dirty Reds are determined to keep their hopes alive in the Ron Massey Cup.
They will face off against the Hills Bulls in a do-or-die semi-final next week, hoping to secure a victory at St Mary's Leagues Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, in the Queensland Cup, the Ipswich Jets experienced a crushing defeat at the hands of the Tweed Seagulls.
The game took place on Sunday afternoon at Piggabeen Sports Complex.
The Jets were unable to stop their opponents, conceding a whopping 13 tries in a devastating 72-8 rout.
This loss marks the end of their season, which unfortunately ended without a single win.
