Did Storm star see clearly in controversial GF?

Storm star explains controversial GF call

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

Storm sensation Jack Howarth has spilled the beans on the controversial no-try ruling in last year's grand final, with the young gun gearing up for an even bigger 2025 despite tackling a gruesome injury in the pre-season.

As he charges towards his second full season in the NRL, Howarth looks back on his ascent, his battle-scarred eye, and the burning question of whether that pivotal moment in the grand final was truly a try.

LOST CONFIDENCE

Howarth was a hot property in the rugby league world, which is why the Storm splurged big bucks to secure him on a five-year contract worth $500,000 a season.

The Australian Schoolboys prodigy was expected to seamlessly slot into the Storm lineup and make a big impact from the outset, just like many of his fellow rising stars from that powerhouse junior squad.

But Howarth only managed to get one game under his belt in 2023 and clocked in two more appearances off the bench in the first 14 rounds of the 2024 season, grappling with injuries and facing doubts on social media about his compatibility with the Storm's game plan.
