Nathan Hindmarsh has issued a warning to Latrell Mitchell regarding potential repercussions after a controversial try during the Rabbitohs' comeback win against the Brisbane Broncos.

Mitchell's late-game actions, which included a 49-metre field goal to seal the match, were overshadowed by his decision to "surrender" in a tackle, prompting a divided reaction from fans.

With just two seconds remaining, the Rabbitohs were stalling on the Broncos' defensive line.

As Mitchell took a knee, seemingly giving up in the tackle, Broncos players, including Payne Haas and Selwyn Cobbo, mistakenly turned their backs, believing the game was over.

In the confusion, Mitchell seized the opportunity, with only Billy Walters in front of him, and darted over for a try.

This incident has sparked debate: some view Mitchell's actions as clever and within his rights, while others criticize it as unsportsmanlike, arguing that players who surrender in tackles shouldn't expect to face heavy contact.

Hindmarsh, speaking on Triple M Radio, highlighted that such behavior could make Mitchell a target for rough treatment in future games, suggesting that this moment may have set an unwelcome precedent.
