On Sunday, May 11, 2025, the Sydney Roosters NSW Cup team recorded their second consecutive victory, defeating Manly-Warringah 36-20 in Tamworth.
After previously overcoming a significant 19-point deficit to win against Canterbury-Bankstown in Round 9, the Roosters faced an early setback, trailing 14-0 minutes before halftime against the Sea Eagles.
A crucial backline play in the 39th minute enabled right centre Kyron Fekitoa to score, narrowing the deficit to 14-6 after Chad Townsend's successful conversion.
Despite Manly's dominance in the first half, this moment marked the beginning of a remarkable comeback for the Roosters.
They scored six consecutive tries, showcasing the impressive pace and skill of Dominic Young on the right wing, who not only scored one of the tries but also assisted in two others.
The second half opened with backs Ethan King and Ben Johnson scoring tries down the left side, facilitating a 30-14 lead for the Roosters.
While they conceded a late try, Makahesi Makatoa scored another for the Roosters, ensuring a final score of 36-20.
Despite this victory, a poor points differential keeps the Roosters just outside the Top Five.
Looking ahead, the Roosters will host the competition leaders, the New Zealand Warriors, next Sunday at Wentworth Park.
