Broncos-listed playmakers Jock Madden and Josh Rogers showcased their skills as the Wynnum Manly Seagulls triumphed over the Sunshine Coast Falcons in an exhilarating Hostplus Cup clash held at Maryborough.
Despite a shaky start that saw the Falcons secure the first two tries and establish a 10-0 lead, the Seagulls soon found their rhythm.
The seamless coordination between the Seagulls' No.6 and No.7 resulted in their first try, with Madden delivering an exquisite inside pass for Rogers to power his way across the try line, marking his 10th try of the season.
Madden then took charge, exhibiting his playmaking abilities by setting up Joshua Simms for a try and providing a well-placed kick for fellow Bronco Delouise Hoeter, who contributed to the Seagulls' comeback and sealed their 30-28 victory.
Hoeter's outstanding performance included seven runs, covering a total of 72 metres, in addition to scoring a try and executing three tackle breaks.
With his points tally for the season reaching 216, Rogers is now in pursuit of surpassing his previous season's achievement of 250 points, with three games remaining before the finals.
