Kirra Dibb, a talented rugby league player, found herself in a bittersweet situation as she watched her former teammates from New South Wales (NSW) secure a last-minute victory but ultimately lose the State of Origin series due to points differential.

Dibb had previously played a crucial role in NSW's Origin success the year before, following her NRLW premiership win with the Knights.

Despite the absence of NRLW games in the first half of the year, Dibb's team, the North Sydney Bears, finished as minor premiers in the Harvey Norman NSW Premiership, with Dibb making significant contributions as a halfback.

Additionally, she showcased her skills and earned the player of the match title while representing NSW Country in the City-Country fixture, which serves as a trial for the Origin series.

However, despite her impressive performances, she was overlooked for selection in the entire series.

Despite this disappointment, Dibb chose to attend the second game of the series in Townsville, where a record-breaking crowd was present.
