Max Delmege, once credited with rescuing the Manly Sea Eagles from financial disaster in the early 2000s, is calling on the Penn Family to vacate their ownership positions at the club.
As a former co-owner and influential figure within the Sea Eagles, Delmege has criticized the Penn family, especially Scott Penn, in light of Anthony Seibold's recent dismissal as head coach.
"I always put the fans first - I would often stand with them on the hill - and the fans are hurting," Delmege shared with Wide World of Sports.
Delmege mentioned that his conversations with locals and the numerous comments on social media reflect a widespread discontent regarding the club's current trajectory. "I speak to a lot of people in the area and see all the comments on social media - everyone is disillusioned with the way the club is going," he added.
Since the Penn family took over, the Sea Eagles have seen a tumultuous period, marked by the hiring and firing of five coaches and eight chief executives. Unfortunately, the club has not secured a premiership title since 2011.
