Dylan Edwards is set to make his debut for the Blues in State of Origin, a moment he has been waiting for his entire life.

The rookie fullback revealed that this will also be the first Origin game he has ever attended, adding an extra layer of excitement to the occasion.

Growing up in Dorrigo, Edwards didn't have the typical Origin fan experience of wearing a blue wig in the stands at Sydney's biggest venue.

However, he has become familiar with Accor Stadium through his time playing for Penrith, where he has made some of his best memories in footy.

Having been selected by new coach Michael Maguire for the series opener, Edwards will be looking to add to his already impressive story.

Despite beating out long-time Blues skipper James Tedesco for the fullback position, Tedesco showed his class by reaching out to congratulate Edwards on his selection.

"It's a dream come true to pull on the Blues jersey," said Edwards, who leads the NRL in running metres and tackle busts.

With his hot form and determination, Edwards is ready to make his mark in Origin and continue his rise in the rugby league world.
