After a decade of waiting, Jayme Fressard finally received her Origin call up, but it came with a bittersweet sacrifice.

Along with her Sydney Roosters teammate Keeley Davis, Fressard had been coaching the club's Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale Cup teams all season.

Due to their selection for the Blues squad, the pair will miss the preliminary finals of the NSWRL competitions as they head to Brisbane for the Origin clash.

Despite only being in her first year of coaching, Davis has already caught the eye of Roosters and NSW mentor John Strange, who sees her as a potential future NRLW coach.

This opportunity to represent NSW in the Origin match is a dream come true for Fressard, but it also means putting her coaching duties on hold for the time being.

The sacrifices they are making for their state team are a testament to their dedication and passion for the game.

Fressard expressed her excitement about the upcoming Origin debut, saying, "I've been playing for 10 years, this is my first year of Origin and a little coaching is not a worry." Despite missing the crucial finals with their coaching responsibilities, both Fressard and Davis are fully committed to supporting the Blues in their quest for victory.

The decision to put their coaching roles on hold for the Origin match is a testament to their dedication to their state team.

As Strange commented, "Keeley is doing a great job coaching the girls.

She's really forward-thinking and she knows a lot about the game.

She could be a NRLW coach one day."

While the sacrifice may be bittersweet, Fressard and Davis are both focused on making the most of their opportunity to represent NSW in the Origin clash.

Their passion for the game and willingness to put their coaching roles on hold showcases their commitment to the sport and their desire to succeed at the highest level.
