The upcoming showdown this Sunday features Lachlan Galvin reuniting with the Wests Tigers, but another significant matchup involves Sea Eagles captain Daly Cherry-Evans, who is set to face off against the club many believe he will join in 2026.
His unexpected announcement earlier this year about leaving Manly stunned fans, yet confirmation of a move to the Roosters for next season remains pending.
Initially, it appeared almost certain that he would be making the switch, with speculation suggesting an announcement would follow the State of Origin series.
However, that period has passed, and reports indicate that official news won't surface until both Manly and the Roosters conclude their current seasons.
Jake Trbojevic, Cherry-Evans' long-time teammate, remarked, "It seems that way (that he's going there), but I haven't heard that from 'Chez'.
But that's the way it seems to be going.
I suppose people out there know and they always seem to be right." He acknowledged Cherry-Evans' commitment to the team, stating, "We know Chez and what he does for Manly.
He is passionate for Manly and goes out and puts his best foot forward no matter what."
