Another legend of the Brisbane Broncos has bid farewell, following in the footsteps of Kevin Walters.
Darius Boyd, a stalwart of the club, has also departed amidst a major shake-up in Brisbane's football department.
The Broncos have certainly had a tumultuous off-season, with the dramatic sacking of head coach Kevin Walters and the appointment of Michael Maguire, all before the NRL Grand Final has even taken place.
It seems like the Broncos are facing a period of transition and change.
Boyd was the first to make the decision to leave, as reported by The Courier Mail, informing Walters of his departure a week prior to Walters' own dismissal.
The former player, who has an impressive 337 first-grade matches under his belt from his time at Brisbane, St George Illawarra, and Newcastle, had been working behind the scenes at the Broncos as a part-time coach, focusing on the development of the outside backs.
As a two-time premiership winner with Brisbane in 2006 and St George Illawarra in 2010, Boyd brought a wealth of experience to his mentoring role, working closely with players like Reece Walsh, Jesse Arthurs, Selwyn Cobbo, Kotoni Staggs, Corey Oates, and Deine Mariner.
His departure marks the end of an era for the Broncos, as they navigate through a period of change and uncertainty.
