The Nines Premier League, a rugby league nines extravaganza set to take place over the Australia Day weekend on the Gold Coast, is set to feature three Dally M Medal winners in its lineup.
Jarryd Hayne, a two-time Dally M Medal winner from 2009 and 2014, is making a comeback to the field after a six-year hiatus since his last rugby league match in 2018.
Joining him will be Todd Carney, who clinched the Dally M Medal in 2010, and Ben Barba, the 2012 Dally M Medal winner.
Sixteen teams will battle it out over the two days in January, with hopes of toppling the reigning champions, the Southern Sharks, a formidable squad comprising players from the Illawarra, Group 6, and Group 7 competitions.
The tournament's website has confirmed the participation of other former NRL players, including Andrew Fifita, Blake Austin, Corey Norman, Daniel Conn, Matt Bowen, Mitchell Pearce, and Willie Mason.
In an exciting development, the Nines Premier League has teamed up with Kayo Sports for the first time, providing fans with the opportunity to catch all the action from the comfort of their homes on January 25 and 26.
